The Mystery of the Curious Plant Shop🔍Let me tell you about this little plant shop in my neighborhood. For five years now—FIVE YEARS—I have never once seen this place open. Not once. The lights are always off. The "Closed" sign permanently guards the door. Plants sit in the window alongside random antiques in what I can only describe as a haphazard collection rather than an actual display. (Right now there are hula hoops hanging above the closed sign? Your guess is as good as mine.🤷🏻♀️) Here's where it gets interesting: This shop is definitely real, and it was definitely open at least once upon a time. How do I know? Because twelve years ago, I walked in and bought a spider plant. That plant is not only still alive—it's thriving. It has survived over a decade, four different owners, and once went two months without water (don't judge me). It merely wilted before bouncing back. This botanical wonder now produces 'babies' that we transplant and give away. It's the best houseplant I've ever had, and I'm half-convinced there's something mystical going on. When I mention the shop to neighbors, they're shocked I've been inside. One actually takes photos every time he passes to document the mysteriously changing window displays. The displays DO change… but no one ever sees anyone changing them. So what's going on? Is someone running a business with the world's most unconventional hours? Is it a front for something else? Did I stumble in during the one day per decade they're open? And most importantly—what other magical plants might be lurking behind that window? I genuinely have no idea what's happened to this little place. I'm sad I can't get more plants from there, but I'll be forever grateful for the weird little space it is and how it got me wondering about what could be going on behind that eclectic jumble in the front window.
