This is my favorite kind of book review. I get to tell you how much I loved this book and why you’ll love it too.

In a peaceful, English retirement community, four friends investigate cold cases – just for fun. Things become even more fun when their community developer is murdered, and they find themselves in the middle of a live case. One body turns to two, then three, until the group is so tangled in the case that their lives may be in danger. Can they catch the killer before it’s too late? Or will one of them be the next victim?

What I'm Reading

I just got a recommendation for Juniper Mean Resorts to Murder by Gracie Ruth Mitchell and Tom Lake by Ann Patchett. And I thought I'd check out The Devil and the Dark Water by Stuart Turton because I liked his other book. I'll let you know how they go! (Or if you've read them, let me know if I should bother.)

Don't waste your time with The House Across the Lake by Riley Sager. What a disappointment. Boo. Maybe I'll do a full review, but for now, suffice it to say, it got dark.

As for A Murderous Charade by Ronda Gibb Hinrichsen, it is exactly what it promises to be. It's a historical romantic mystery with a fun main character, a few deaths, and plenty of swoon. Perfect for listening to on a long road trip or while you're doing chores.

What I'm Watching

I just finished Fool Me Once on Netflix. And Magpie Murders on PBS. O.M.Goodness. Yeah, I'll do a whole review on those. Now we're keeping it low-key and classy with The Bachelor and Farmer Wants a Wife.

Writing Update

Huge breakthrough with my work in progress. I was feeling a little stalled out around the midpoint and couldn't figure out what was wrong. Well… without giving away any spoilers, there was a small (large) structure issue. I'm so happy to figure out the problem and move forward that I don't even care about all the changes it means I need to make. As long as the story is getting better, and the end is in sight, I'm happy!
